21 Lamboll Street

21 Lamboll Street is a beautifully restored circa-1834 residence in Charleston's South of Broad neighborhood. Known as the Catherine Jenkins House, the historic property has undergone an extensive renovation that carefully honors its original architecture while introducing thoughtful updates throughout. The project was completed by Tupper Builders with architect Eddie Fava and was recognized with a 2024 Carolopolis Award for its exceptional preservation and craftsmanship.The renovation included a comprehensive interior restoration, with new electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, and flooring throughout. Ceilings and doorways were raised where possible to enhance the scale and natural light of the interiors, while five fireplaces were relined and converted to fully functional gas fireplaces. The home's historic character is complemented by Classic Brass hardware throughout, Forbes & Lomax light switch panels, and Gracie wallpaper in the primary bedroom.

The first floor offers a gracious progression of living spaces from the front living room and dining room to the kitchen and expansive family room at the rear of the home. The kitchen is equipped with Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances. A separate scullery provides a dedicated workspace just off the kitchen. Large new windows across the rear of the home frame views of the beautifully landscaped backyard from the family room.

Upstairs, the second floor is anchored by a generous primary suite with an exceptionally large walk-in closet and spacious primary bath. The yard was fully graded and redesigned with new turf, landscaping, irrigation, and yard lighting by Blue Moon. Nine fruit trees add to the established garden setting, while a timed mosquito misting system provides added convenience. At the rear of the property, a fountain creates a peaceful focal point within the garden. Off-street parking accommodates two cars and a golf cart.
